DEAR is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to speaking in a uniform and united voice whose purpose is to maintain retirement provisions of all Detroit Edison Company Retirees and MCN Retirees covered under the respective Retirement Plans.

The officers of DEAR operate as provided by the by-laws adopted by an ad-hoc committee at its meeting of June 11, 2002 at 9:00A.M. in Room 1058 Walker Cisler Building. The DEAR By-Laws were amended by action of the DEAR Board of Directors on February 25, 2003.

DEAR was formed prior the the acquisition of MCN Company (Michcon) by DTE Energy Company, parent company of The Detroit Edison Company. After the merger of MCN into the DTE Energy Company, DEAR amended its Incorporation documents to allow us to represent beneficiaries of the MCN Retirement Plan.

DEAR is not affiliated in any manner with DTE Energy Company or any of its subsidiaries and operates solely on monetary donations from its members.
