Working with DTE on Health Care Benefits
For the first time since 2006, those protected by the
three-year benefit settlement plan may face changes
in health care benefits beginning in 2010. In January
DEAR and DTE co-created and approved a Charter
for the Health Care Sub-Committee (HCSC). This
Charter is a joint effort that will hopefully provide
DEAR an opportunity to play an active role in
helping to form and review any health-care benefit
recommendations. In addition, DTE and Dear will
work together to communicate retiree benefits and
any changes. Read more in the current newsletter>>
Are you on Medicare?
Have You Signed up for Your Medicare History?
It only takes a few minutes on the My Medicare website and once you are done it is very easy to see the past 15 or
so months of your Medicare activity.
Go to http://www.mymedicare.gov and when that home page opens up, about half way down it asks if you need to
register, click there and follow the instructions. You get an almost immediate temporary password with instructions
to follow to get your own password. You only need your Medicare Card, but note, you must have either a Letter A
or B (or some other designation after your Social Security number).
DTE Benefits Hotline
If you have any unresolved issues about your benefits whether it be pensions, 401K plans or health care, call 1-877-687-2638. You will be asked to leave a message and a representative will contact you.
